As management students, we have all studied the different stages of team dynamics from forming-storming-norming-performing
This week was quite interesting with many ups and downs. The first week was all about getting to know each other and focusing on the similarities. The bond we formed within just a few days of knowing each other was amazing. This week was about removing those rose tinted glasses and taking a more critical approach to each other's work. We had some really interesting debates with regards to story telling. The diversity in our group meant there were many different opinions about the structure, semantics, tone and overall flow of our story. This richened the idea pool but also meant that we had to spend several hours discussing and debating to reach consensus. Although frustrating at times, it was a good learning experience that taught me a lot in terms of how I behave in times of conflict and how to conduct more efficient and inclusive discussions. It's good that we all are contributing and taking critical approach to discussions but hopefully over the next few weeks, we can do it in a more constructive and efficient manner. I think establishing some ground rules for discussions would help! Good to see us all getting passionate in this storming stage. Can't wait to use all our energies to perform!

Rucha!! I agree that we should have some ground rules for discussions as well. Artur has some suggestions on maybe having a team charter. Maybe we could bring it up tomorrow during the reflection and start doing it for this week?
ReplyDeletei think up to some extant i like that we start to disagree with each other since only in this way we can find the consensus in general truth for all of us. I think when we have tha general framework the process will be much easier and we`ll actually enjoy when everyone has a different opinion about the subject.
