Welcome to week 2 highlights. Just to remember what happened and to reflect on what I learned.
This day brought an understanding of main revenue streams of Nova network, the mission of Nova Global and the product portfolio. Also we got to know the main competitive networks (both offline and online) throughout the Europe by implementing the lightning assignment where each of us had a chance to analyze different aspects of 3 competitive networks and then present the outcome.
I believe this day was one of the most valuable in terms of information provided and gathered.
Day 7. Tue: Visit to Klarna, 1st part of research.
Visit to Klarna was valuable for me as I found their business model very appealing in terms of it's unique features. They are not only optimizing the online trades for consumers and not only increasing the conversion rates for their partner merchants, but also introducing the innovative decisions into the model, the example of which is a risk assessment concept implemented into the code. However, I do not think that right now such code can increase the online trade value in the developing countries, such as Russia as the mentality and consumer behaviour is very different from EU.
Day 8. Wed: Final research, presentation.
The individual presentations of the concepts were different, capturing and insightful. Every one was unique in terms of the style and topic as well. This was our second more or less individual task and it showed the diversity and strength of our group in full capacity.
Day 9. Thu: Conclusion of the story, focus group.
Emotional breakthrough with Andrea and Artur during our brainstorm of ideas for the prototype conclusion was amazing. I found how we can make the storytelling more inspiring for the target group (which was not correct by our first assumption) than just words.
Day 10. Fri: Storytelling prototype, Sunny Fridays.
We finished the prototype of 1st module quite successfully (with a help of Aisha's pancakes). The rest of the day was devoted to Sunny Fridays@Sup46, where I spent 5 hours, getting to know lots of interesting people and telling them our story and what is it: to be a Startup Manager.
I found this week very intense, the time passes by very quickly. Hope to learn even more tomorrow. Look forward to getting the event prototype done :)

Hey roommate!! Good job with the weekly recap once again! :) Like yourself, I really enjoyed the visit to Klarna, must be because we're both Finance majors ;) All these business visits should definitely be kept on as part of the module for future Nova Interns.
ReplyDeleteWhat I think would be even more helpful though is if we could find a way to schedule the business visits into the relevant weekly modules so that we can tie everything we've done for the week back to the module for that week, just to reinforce the weekly modules and make everything more applicable.
